Jackson Area Intergroup is the service body supporting meetings within our vicinity which have chosen to affiliate with our intergroup.  Currently, we represent meetings in Jackson, Somerset, Adrian, and Okemos.

 

Jackson Area Intergroup provides support to our groups and our communities in the following ways:

 

• The intergroup serves as a point of contact for individuals, medical professionals, and local organizations, seeking information about Overeaters Anonymous.
   

• Affiliated groups are invited to have a voice and a vote at the intergroup level by sending a group representative to each meeting.
   

• ​ OA approved literature is purchased in bulk by the intergroup for resale to the individual groups in order to keep their shipping costs to a minimum.
   

• Through our representation at Region 5 and World Service business conferences each group is given a voice at all levels of Overeaters Anonymous.
   

• Intergroup ensures that important information is shared quickly with each group concerning actions taken at World Service and Region 5 which impact OA as a whole.
   

• Jackson Area Intergroup maintains this Website and an email account as a way to facilitate communication between the intergroup, OA meetings, individual OA members, and to answer inquiries from our communities at large.
